Birthday Celebration Part 1
Last night we (Chrissy, Hannah, Ganesh, Rebecca and I) went to Serendipity for dinner. I got cheese ravioli and a frozen hot chocolate! :) It was the weirdest combo of people, but still tons of fun. Hannah was on the debate team with me in HS, Ganesh was on the math team, and we had tons of classes together in HS, but he was in a different circle, Rebecca was my roomie at VBI (debate camp), and Chrissy, well she's my cousin.
Afterwards Ganesh and I headed to Celsius at Bryant Park, where we met up with Ashley and Jackie. I got carded for my first official drink as a 21 year old!!! I had a Snow White - Kahlua, hazelnut, vanilla, steamed milk and whipped cream, which was awesome, it was a warm alcoholic drink, who knew those existed. Later Torres showed up followed by Caitlin, Frank and his new GIRLFRIEND!
We then went to Friday's after, where I got the coolest cotton candy drink! :)

D-Tour Live
Today we went to the Simon D-Tour at Roosevelt Field. It was pretty awesome
First Kristinia DeBarge came out, followed by The Cab. Apparently I had heard of Kristina, she sings Goodbye. The also had the X-Games BMX Action Sports Tour which featured some of the x-gamers, which was pretty awesome! :)

Debate Lunch
Today I had lunch in Union Square with JCruz, Vineet, Seth and Josh. We started off at Japonica, which was closed... however Jon was convinced that it was open until he saw it for himself. We ended up going to this Seafood place a few blocks away. Afterwards we walked Jon home then chilled at Washington Square Park for a while.

Jimmy Fallon & Fallout Boy
Today Ganesh and I went to the taping of Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon! It was pretty awesome, Eric Bana, and 2 other ladies were there. Oh yeah, and Fall Out Boy - lol. J-Dawg won me "band bench" tickets, which allowed us to stand with the band on stage as they performed. Ganesh and I got to stand behind Andy (the drummer) while they were onstage, right in the center!
After their performance, Pete Wentz touched my hand and gave me a guitar pick!!! It was an awesome day!
To top it off, I got to see Alex and TJ after the show! :) We got some food, then went to see 500 Days of Summer, which was really sad. It really hit home for Alex, he cried, and was sad and mopey after the movie :(

FLIPPER BEACH!!!
Today Andres, Meredith and I went to Flipper Beach. Lyle had recommended the beach to us, and it was the perfect place to go for my last weekend. I even got to go on a little trail, my fav thing to do in life, as the beach was 15 mins from Jaws Beach where the parking lot was located.

Jail & Tattoos
Today I went to PRISON!!!
Don't worry I'm not in trouble, Tim took me to Her Majesty's Prison aka Fox Hill Prison. We got to interview three American immates at the prison/jail. The conditions of the jail were terrible. First the roads were not smooth at all, and a lot of the facilities did not look up to 21st standards. The inmates actually wear the black and white suits that you think of when you think of prison. The low level security inmates had the black and white stripped suits, and the high level security inmates wore red and white suits.
It was really sad to see the conditions that they were forced to live in :-\
The first guy we saw was sentenced to 5 years in prison for credit card fraud, and the following two were in jail awaiting their trials.
For lunch the crew (Lexxee, Brian, Kiah, Miguel, Jonathan, Zach, his girlfriend Melissa, and I went to Hard Rock for lunch - I had the best quesadilla!!! :)
Afterwards, Alex and I got henna tattoos at "The Tattoo King." She got the Capricorn sign on the back of her neck, and I got a butterfly with some tribal bands coming out on the sides.
Next it was off to Daleena's for a surprise party for Tim and Nichole Walton, who are leaving in 2 weeks. Daleena danced for us, and her mom made some Indian food. It was a lot of fun until we tried to leave... the night ended in Daleea getting lectured in addition to myself and Alex...
Then we chilled at the Marine House and watched some movies, where I illegally stayed over as Ray and I both fallen asleep on the couches (separate ones).

Bye Bruno :(
Bruno, one of the marines and my birthday buddy, left this morning for DC :( We took him out last night. First we went to Outback for dinner, followed by Senor Frogs for some drunks, then Aura, needless to say we were out late. I did manage to prove myself as a good wing person. :)
I'm going to miss you Bruno!!!

COMPLY!!!
Today was a usual boring Monday, until... I got news that the Marines would be having a drill today, and I would get to be an intruder aka BAD GUY!
Kishawn, Alex, Tonya and I were all bad guys and had to find places to hide. Alex and I were told we were not wearing enough clothes to get weapons?
The boys did not find me, they actually stood a few inches away from me and walked right past me. :) I was hiding under these big boards that were up against the wall (that formed a triangle of sorts which I hid in, which had the podium in front of it.
Kishawn was the 1st to be found and died, next was Alex, then me. Tonya was not found.
Eventually in their 2nd run of the place they found me, I ran from the hall into the Spiers room, into the kitchen where I was cornered by Ray and Andres who both had guns. Ray got me to the floor and handcuffed me. However he failed to tighten them and my hands came out - lol.

Leslie's Memorial
I just got back from Leslie's memorial. It was very sad and unlike any other in the sense that his Junkanoo group had rushed through the memorial.

Today Meredith, my new roomie came in. So far so good, she seems like a sweetheart! We just spent forever talking. We - Meredith, Jonathan, Miguel, Derell, Marilu and her grandson Ethan, Barbara & Gary, Bertha, Dana & Steve and I, went to dinner at Traveller's Rest which overlooked the water and was gorgeous!
Later tonight I made some oreos for Ray's Birthday and decided to make some for the rest of the office as well. I took a break and made some warm deliveries, however in the process I left the stove down and almost burnt down the house... oops!
After that, John, Kurt and Goose (John's dog) came over to get some fried oreos, that was interesting...

Jet Skiing
Today was an interesting day, at first I thought we were going to the beach w/ Lyle and other embassy people. However the weather started to look bad, and it didn't look like we were going out, so I was kind of bummed. Then John called me and invited me to go jet skiing!
It was soo much fun, we went all around the island starting at Sandyport going all the way to Atlantis and past that. It was tons of fun. On our way out, we stopped at Senor Frog's, where I finally met Katie's husband, who brought us shots right to our jet ski's in the water which was pretty awesome! I had 2 shots, and didn't die, impressive huh?
Then we rode around some more, and the boys - John, Kirk, Aaron and Edgar wake boarded as I watched (I cant swim). While they were doing that I took John's wave runner for a ride, and that was so much fun! I may or may not have gone 60 km/hr while the boys said I should only go 30... oops...

right now we're trying to find a ride so we can go out clubbing!

POWER ME UP!
So we lost power, and just got it back... It was raining insanely hard, and there was nothing we could do...
1. I don't know how to use a power generator, and neither did the 3 people I randomly called, one of which included post one.
2. We had nothing to do
Luckily Yupa and I both had flashlights! :) John was nice and was coming to get us! Unfortunately he got stopped to help out a stranded embassy employee. However we were able to finally get back our power, after about 3 hours... It was pretty scary and intense rain.

1st Day at US Embassy Internship
Today was my first day at the US Embassy in Nassau, Bahamas. I woke up at 6:30 AM (after having gone to bed at 1:30, wow I'm an idiot). Marilu, drove Yupa and myself, to pick up Miguel, and then we headed to the Embassy. I was really nervous and energetic for the first day!
When we got there we went in, and gave in our passports to get a visitor's ID. We then parted our separate ways, I went w/ Marilu. We had gotten to the office really early, so we were practically the only ones there. So I helped her out w/ a few tasks and met a bunch of people.
For lunch I went out w/ my supervisor, which happens to be a fordham alum and the #2 guy at the embassy. We went to Conch Fritters, which had some pretty sweet burgers.
Marilu drove us home at 4 PM. After that Yupa and I walked to the beach, which was gorgeous!

1st Day in the Bahamas!!!
Today I arrived at the Nassau Airport. The flight was super empty, I had my own row to myself. When I landed I realized that I had no idea where I was meeting my sponsor Marilu. It turned out that Dana Renfroe (the community liason office aka clo) and my new roomie, Yupa picked me and the other new intern Miguel from the airport. Luckily they had held signs so I knew it was them, or else I wouldve been lost and confused.
After we arrived and I took my bags into my room, we went to Marilu's for dinner. She cooked us chicken tacos which were very yummy! :)
The house is pretty sweet. It's 2 floors, the first floor consisting of a kitchen, living room, back area and a small patio. The second floor has 2 bedrooms, one of which is mine, and my roomie has the master bedroom, however i have my own bathroom and office area! :)

City Date w/ Mike :)
Today was awesome, Mike and I went on our first date! :) We met up at the Time Warner building, he was at Borders at the time so I went up to meet him. Then we went to this cute sushi place for lunch, which was really cute :) Sadly he eat more than me, but he is only idk, a foot taller than me? lol.
Afterwards we walked through Central Park, which was really nice. We walked around, watched some people playing baseball, Bacchic, and walked around the lake. We found a really cute, seculed place to sit on some rocks, where we laid down - which is now 'our spot' :)
Then Mike had to go be a good friend and meet up w/ his friend from Boston.
Today was perfect! :)

Encaenia 2009
Yesterday I went up to Fordham to support Jayme and Greg at Encaenia - Fordham's Award Ceremony. It took me an hour to get up there, it should have only took me 40-50 mins max. I got to hang out w/ everyone which was fun.
The ceremony itself was BORING, but it was very nice. I was proxying the annoying parent taking lots of pix for the DeSocios ;) At the reception they had tons of champaigne and chocolate covered strawberries :)

Kate Voegele
After work Ashley and I went to Highline Ballroom to see Kate Voegele perform. We had some issues w/ getting the tickets to the show, but it all worked out! She was PHENOMENAL!!! Kate sang songs from her 1st and some from her new CD (that comes out on Monday). She was soo good live!
After the show, and much waiting, I got to meet her!!! She came out from her tour bus and took pix/signed autographs! (I also got part 2 of my master present ;)) Kate was super sweet, and soo nice!
Last day at WMG
Today is my last day at WMG, it's bitter sweet. While I'm glad to be done, I'm going to miss everyone.
I'm supposed to sit in a meeting with Kasia and Cody (two of the other interns). From what I heard, it should be interesting.... I had heard they had not come in the past month...
I guess I won't be leaving as early as I had anticipated. It's all good.

DONE WITH FINALS!!!!!!!!!!
I'M DONE WITH FINALS AND JUNIOR YEAR!!!
I took my last 2 finals today in Operations & Product Management (OPM or Modern Operations Management - MOM) and Investments and Securities!
The MOM test was easy-ish, but the Investments test was HARDDD, everyone thought so, even smart people like Ray and Greg. That doesn't make me feel as bad about it.
What am I goign to do with myself now?
**EDIT Events later that night**
I went to the caf w/ John and Jenny, and bumped into Rose, Linda, Sarah, etc. Rose was flipping out, so I went to Walsh to help and calm her down, Waisman's take home final was INSANE! After that Connor came down and we headed to O'Hare to watch Wall-E!
I got bored and decided to text Mike, even though my friend usually advise against it for certain reasons which I will not mention. He called me around 1:20 AM to tell me he was going to Pugleys, so me being done w/ finals, bored and wanting to celebrate went out. As I was about to get there, I bumped into none other than BERN! We talked for a while, then all of a sudden Connor, and his roomies Matt and Tom came. I went in and finally met up w/ Mike, and then headed to chill w/ Connor. However on the way I also bumped into Kate Schweighart, talked to her for a bit, and then made it over. Everyone was out that night!

FEEL BETTER JENNY!!!
This morning Jenny went to the hospital for exhaustion. Last night she came to my room around 2 AM, and looked like DEATH! So I told her to sit on my chair, where she proceeded to tell me how her legs felt like jello, and she couldn't stand up. So I told her to sit and get some sleep, but she refused, and requested that I get Andrei to make her coffee... After some arguing, we walked over, I had to guide her, if I did not know any better I'd say she was super drunk. So I dropped her off on the couch that was randomly in the hallway, and went to Andrei. There was no way that we were goign to give her any coffee, so we talked and hoped that she'd fall asleep. No luck, she came and knocked on the door.
After much arguing, she agreed she needed to go to bed. I guided her back to her room. When we got to her room, I went to open the door, she immediately fell to the floor and couldnt get up... So she had to crawl back into her room, since I couldn't pick her up. Finally after many calls/texts, John Hinke came and help us, he lifeguarded Jenny to her bed, and put her on her bed.
By that time Jenny was really bad, hadno energy and had the chills, it was as if she was having seisures...

PARTY!
Last night was a lot of fun. The girls (Ashley, Becky, Jackie and Jenny) and I went out to Mugz to celebrate the last day of classes.
We hit up Mugz, there were a decent amount of people, including the Ramblers, Badness, and oh yeah, Danielle - MY WELLNESS RA! What?!? I kept avoiding her out of awkwardness...
Eventually I bumped into Bern, we always end up out together on the last day of classes. I <3 her! I also bumped into Kelly Chiang - BX SCI REPRESENT!

Official Last Day of Classes/NSO Training/O'Fair
Today was the last day of classes, although my last day of classes was yesterday.
I started the day heading to my internship, I was not bored today as I got to sit in on a conference call with Michael from Audio Galaxy, which was interesting. I love being able to see the behind the scenes stuff. After the conference call I headed back to Fordham for NSO training.
I was super late, by the time I got off the train it was 3:05 (training started at 3...) So I ran out of the station and back to capus, which took like 15 mins. When I got there, everyone was playing ice breakers. I found Susan and Katie, who were both acting kind of weird... I felt like they were trying to get rid of me...
After training it was time to set up for "O'Fair" - O'Hare's end of the year party! O'Fair consisted of a BBQ, w/ tie-dye, and carnival games! The party went pretty well and a lot of fun!
I spoke to Katie later, and she assured me that everything was ok and I was freaking out about nothing! :)

Newt Gingrich
Today Newt Gingrich came to speak at Fordham. He wasn't as boring as I thought he'd be, and actually quite funny. Although you could tell he was republican as he had dissed Obama numerous times.

UMCP Tournament / Spring Preview
UMCP
I was just in MD for the past two days for the UMCP tournament.
I traveled for oh 17 hours-8.5 hrs each way, and was there for less than a day, maybe 16 hrs top? I left Fordham at 4, right after class, traveling with a duffel bag, brownies and a plant in hand. I got to Penn Station for the 5:30 bus to DC, but got there around 5, as they said we should. Turns out the bus was 1/2 hour late, so we didn't leave until a little after 6 PM... The bus was filled, and they had to turn people away. I didn't get to DC until close to midnight, and not to UMCP until 12:30 if not later, my cell phone had died. From DC, I had to take the metro from their chinatown to the College Park metro station, and a shuttle bus to the Student Center from there. However I did meet a nice girl on the bus! :) She walked me to the Metro station and even offered to let me stay w/ her if i coudlnt get in touch w/ anyone. While taking the shuttle bus, i met a cute "wilderness paramedic," Alex, who gave me his # :)
The tournament had been done for a while by the time I got there, and everyone was at Johnny Mathias' place for the party. Marisol had told me that Ali would come get me, however, it did not seem like it. Turns out Matt Katz had come to get me, which was awesome! Eventually I had got there, however most of the Fordham team (minus Greg and Emillie) had left already :( I stayed for a bit, but would have preferred to have been w/ the rest of the team. Soon after the party had gotten broken up by the cops... Luckily cops at UMCP only break up parties and possibly fine you but thats about it.
I finally got back to housing and saw MATT SPOTTS!!! I haven't seen him in forever, as he is studying to be a Jesuit in Detroit, MI. He's teh only reason I made the trip down.
The next morning I judged like 2 rounds, and that was it. I got to see Victorio, so that was cool.
So when I finally got to the tournament, I learned that I would not be able ride back w/ the team and needed to find an alternate way home. I asked Sarah and Liz Zahler from NYU, how they were getting home, to see if I could take the train home with them. Apparently they had driven up. So after the team had left, I had thanked Liz for giving me a ride, and she said "yeah... about that...., we need to talk about that."
I was a bit bummed that the whole team was going to Sarah's after the tournament, but w/e there wasn't anything I could do about it.
Freaking out as we're walking to the car, I get a lecture from liz. Basically she was upset, cuz she felt that she was cohersed into giving me a ride back to NYC, I should've not been baking on them, and that if I needed a ride I should've asked sooner.... First, I didn't find out til I got my phone on (I had to stand in the corner of the metro station like a sketchy person to charge it) and I wasn't going to ask at the party - that would've been awkward. Second, I was not relying on them for a ride, I initialy asked them thinking they were taking the bus and wanted to take the bus home w/ them, and said I would've taken the bus home if necessary.
The car ride was not as bad or awkward as I had anticiapted thankfully! We were making good time, until we got stuck in Lincoln Tunnel traffic for 2 HOURS!!!
Eventaully I got home at 12:30 yet again, another 6.5 hrs travelling. Some how the team had gotten back an hour before me, while leaving the same time as us, and going to Sarah's for dinner?!? At least I got to see Matt Spotts.
Spring Preview
Today was Spring Preview. It was sort of a bust, as it was in the Ramskellar this year, and not many people made it down there as a result.
I saw Sean Frey, who I met in a car when Jan Michael drove me to Fordham from Big Bronx last year (Oct 2007). I gave Sean and his mom a tour and chilled w/ them for a while and called it a day.

CRAZY DAY
Today I had my interview for my internship w/ the US Embassy, with a formder FBI agent and more importantly Fordham alum Bob Flaherty. The interview was more of a Q&A of questions that had been asked on my application.
The interview took place at Bob's friend, get seen who was a dentist's office. It was a bit awkward, as I walked into the office, clearly not there for the dentist as I was in a suit... So they asked who I was there to see. Once I told her that I was there to see Bob, she went into the back, and he came out to interview me.
Bob turned out to be very nice, and the interview was not intimidating at all!
Then I went to head toward the ticket place (which was near Penn Station) to get a ticket for my trip to UMCP later. On the way there I was in Times Square and realized that E&Y was in that area, and decided to send Ed Fitz a text. We met up and talked for a little while, then I was on my way to Penn station to get a ticket. On the way there, near Penn Station I bumped into Gurv, an HR intern at WMG with me. We talked for a bit, it was cool cuz I had never really talked to him before. After much confusion I had finally made it to the bus ticket place, and bought a ticket. The office was actually across the street from Penn Station.
Later I met up w/ Kat for lunch, I was a bit late from our orignal time, but luckily she had not gotten there yet either. Lunch was nice to catch up.
I got my stuff all packed, minus the food.
Off to the Chinatown bus once class is over!

Today was super hectic. In addition to having 2 midterms, I had 4 events tonight.
I started off the morning waking up around 8 and studying for "Modern Operation Management" (MOM), which turned out to be a pretty easy test. Then I headed to "Ethics in Business," lunch, proceeded by more studying and my Corporate Financial Policy test, which was super hard. After that I went to "Investments and Securities."
After that I headed to the 1st Annual CBA Advisory Panel, which was kind of boring, but I did get to meet Christine Driessen, the CFO of ESPN! That was really exciting! Then it was off to debate, followed by a club appreciation dinner, and our "O'Hare Fresh Air" program, which was very successful.
I did not get back until 11:15PM ish... and I had left my room around 9:45... AM
Today was busy, but at least all of those events are over!
1 day til Easter Break!

Rutgers Tournament
Congrats to Peter & Sarah, Meg & Caitlin, Robert & Emillie!!!
This weekend was the Rutgers Tournament, we had a decent contingent go - Greg & I, Meg & Caitlin, Peter & Sarah, and Robert & Emillie debated, while Gareth was judging. It was a pretty good weekend, we had 2 teams (Meg & Caitlin, Peter & Sarah) break to quarters in varsity, 1 in novice team (Robert & Emillie) to semi's, I got to see Steph, and had some luck this weekend! And, I even got a bed, and managed to pack light for once! (I figured out it was the bag itself that had been weighing me down)
Friday
The day started out the same as usual, I went to work study, then packed, saw Jenny, and headed out to the Ram Van. We took the Ram Van down to LC, then the 1 to Penn Station. While waiting for the train (we had a decent amount of time) I got a KRISPY CREAM DONUT and strawberry lemonade - yum! Finally it was time to board the train, we took the 2:01 PM Express Trenton Bound train to New Brunswick. The ride was very fast, and only took about 1/2 hr, who knew we were so close? When we got to the stop we werent sure it was ours, and ran off the train like maniacs. Luckily they waited for us all to get off, or else we would have been riding the train for anotehr 40 mins to the next stop - Princeton.
We finally arrived to GA, we were super early (3PM) and was the first team there, there wasn't even anyone from Rutgers there yet. Eventually Dave (who I've met 9453445654 times before) and Kyle got to GA.
We just chilled for a while. There was an interesting field of debaters present - Princeton (Dan and Zayn were both here instead of Chicago?), NYU, some Hopkins kids (Vivek & Childers), Leah from AU, Sam Hynes from W&M was judging, one team from Yale, F&M, TCNJ, etc. It was a small tournament, as there were only 30 teams. It was oringally supposed to be 32, but some teams had dropped causing them to cancel Round 4, since Princeton had both sent approximately 8 teams each, making it hard to pair rounds. This was good, cuz we got to sleep in though! :)
After Round 2, Steph had met up and got dinner w/ us, we went to the "Fat Cat" which had some crazy sandwiches. Imagine a sandwich with any and all possible fried food... After that Steph came to watch one of my rounds. We then got housing, and headed out to the party.
The party was interesting to say the least. We got there relatively early, we were ready to head over there before the host was even home. When we got there there wasn't really anyone there yet. But there was some alcohol, however the team was being super annoying and controlling. The NOVICE, FIRST YEAR debaters who were FRESHMEN, were telling me - a JUNIOR VARSITY debater that I shouldn't drink the jungle juice. I was outraged, and annoyed, but I didn't want to get into a disagreement so I had Kyle make me a mixed drink instead :) The novii went down for drinks and the same thing occurred.
After a while Steph and I just chilled independently, after a while Emillie came up to me and said the team was leaving, it wasn't even 12:30 yet... LAME! So I stayed later w/ Steph. Soon after Eric, the Rutgers president convinced me to have a shot... or 2 by the end of the night. Needless to say I was a bit tipsy by the end of the night.
After the team had left, Steph and I hung out w/ the TCNJ kids. That was interesting... Long story short, one of the boys (who shall remain namess) was trying to hook up w/ me... (don't worry it's me, and well all know I'm not that type of girl)
Saturday
Apparently the party had gotten raided not too long after I had left, and people were maised and arrested. And I bumped into the TCNJ boy, and he was supernice the next day, meaning I wasnt just some girl he wanted a drunken hookup with :)
Breaks were announced, and we had 2 teams in the varsity break, and one in the novice break. In the words of Matt Spotts, YEAH FORDHAM WHOO!!!!!!
After Quarters, we all took the train home, and hit up White Castle.

Secrets of the Superoptimist
Today Nat Whitten, author of "Secrets of the Superoptimist," came to speak at Fordham. He gave a really good lecture. His book seems really funny.
Apparently I fall into his description of an "optimist" as I am always happy - lol who would've guessed!
Afterwards Becky and I went to the USG Candidate Forum, which was kind of boring... and left around 6:30.
I then pretty much bummed around the dorm the rest of the night.
RHA meeting in a few!

Princeton Tournament & APDA Elections
This past weekend was Princeton and APDA Elections.
The tournament was a lot of fun. We got to travel with the lovely Stanford boys. Rich Boltizar was nice enough to pick us (Gareth, Jayme and myself) Friday morning in his minivan. We chilled for a little while, in my room, then headed to Newark Airport to pick up Anish and the rest of the Stanford Team. When we got there, it turned out that one of the kids had poison oak... which was contagious.
We then dropped the boys off at the hotel, and Rich then dropped us off at the tournament. We got there super early, around 3-ish? in fact we were the first people there! Crazy huh?
This weekend I debated w/ Gareth, who was surprisingly quite calm this weekend. The tournament was loose linked (Dan Rauch had come up with the links)
As round 1 was about to be released, my new expansion school UAlbany came!!! Crystal, who I had been emailing, and I sorta gave each other that "are you her..." look and sure enough we were right! The UAlbany kids were super nice, and very willing to learn. I took them around to meet everyone, which they seemed to enjoy.
Round 1
We hit Jake (Campbell) and his partner Evelyn, with Dan Rauch as our judge
THW ban the bomb (we would ban cluster emissions)
This round was a lot of fun, Jake and I had talked a lot over the week, and it was nice to finally debate him. UAlbany watched our round, and really liked it - I even got to teach them how to flow before the round.
In round 2, we hit a MIT/Brown(Josh Lo's hybrid from NYU) hybrid
Over turn the courts decision in the 2000 election between Gore and Bush
This round was pretty awful as it was so unclear and just boring
In Round 3, we hit Jordan (from NYU) and his partner w/ Jason Herron as our judge
Beauty - allow graffitti in designated public places
This round was fun, Jordan and his partner were really good, and it was awesome having Jason as our judge. This was his 2nd time judging me at the tournament (he had judged me and frank my freshman year)
Round 4
We hit MIT Novices w/ "Marty" as our judge (apparently he was TD of the Princeton Tournmaent last year)
THB that we should save the schools - abolish no child left behind
Meh, that's all I'll say about the round
Round 5
We hit Jim and Tyger (who apparently likes to be called Tuff) from WP w/ Treavor Gleason as our judge
Get rid of indefinite detention
This round was really fun, I got to debate with some of my really good friends on the circuit. I had never hit a WP team, so that was cool. The case was stereotypical WP, but it was a good round, but I guess Treavor didn't think so - he was falling asleep in the round.
In between rounds, I got to see and hang out w/ everyone. This is one of the few tournaments that everyone goes to, because APDA weekends were this weekend.
Elections
Elections went on til 5AM!!! How? No idea, we startd at 1:30 ish, however VP Operations was unopposed, and no Member speeches/questions were given/asked (which annoyed me since I had been freaking out about my speech all night and had spent a lot of time on it).
The first election was for president between Adam, Sam and Cyrus. Cyrus was very ill with Mono, it was hard core as he was in the hospital and on mandatory bed rest. Goldstein had surprisngly won... Sam had won the house, however Goldstein had all of the proxy votes, thus outnumbering the in house votes, winning presidency.
Next was VP Ops, in which Alex Taubes was unopposed, remained unopposed and won the position.
VP Finance was up next, it was a race between Sam who had dropped down, Zayn, Rich, and Ali. This was an interesting race. Sam won this position.
Next was the Member race, it was me against Will, Pam, Leah, 25, Rich, Ali, and Cyrus. All of the candidates had agreed not to give speeches, so not wanting to be "that girl" had to comply, which I think hurt my chances.
Unfortunately I did not win. :( However my team was there to support me, dinos included, which really meant a lot to me (unlike the WP boys... cough cough). Not to mention that I had WP's full support. Ben said if I had a shirt he would wear it, and Lupo said he would only go to elections to vote for me! :) Unfortunately Adam was being mean and wouldn't let them vote. They had paid on Friday, they just did not email him in time, so they couldnt vote; meanwhile other teams who had emailed him by Thursday and paid on Friday could vote.... not fair.
The next day everyone was exhausted to say the least. I got to hang out w/ Jason Herron, and he claimed that he was really mean, which is a complete LIE. I also got to hang out w/ my favorite boys on the cirucit. They were mean to me on Friday for some weird reason, but it was all resolved when we chilled.
More of UAlbany came on Saturday, the rest of them were super nice.
Funny story: This was a conversation between me and Sarah Hom, yes I was lucky enough to see Sarah, when she had saw my team.
That essentially wraps up the whole tournament.

Sarah: "you have some really good looking boys on your team, you should date one of them"As soon as breaks were annonced, I bounced outta there w/ JH, Boma, Sean and Rudy, and picked up Shinjini (one of Stanford's novices). And later picked up Liz Holmes and Treavor Gleason. I just wantd to get outta there ASAP.
Me (shocked): "WHAT?!? who?"
Sarah points at the UAlbany Team - LOL
That essentially wraps up the whole tournament.

Back to Fordham
Spring Break's over :(
I didn't do anything worth while or productive over break. Aww well, at least I got to sleep in, relax, and see some friends! :)
Let's hope I can wake up in time for class tomorrow!

Dinner w/ Garvin
Today I went to work as usual, it was a slow morning, followed by a busy afternoon. Max was out for the day, and Jim left relatively early - around 1 ish?
At 11 AM, I met with Paul Sinclair VP of Digital Media at Atlantic Records. He spoke to us at one of the intern events, however I wanted to speak to him individually as we have simliar backgrounds, and I figured he could help me figure out what I want to do with my life. When I got there, I couldnt get into the floor so I just stood around hoping someone would open it - AWKWARD... Eventually I got in and got to speak with Paul. I was telling him abut my background, and asked about his, we had a lot more in common than I had thought. He had a lot of questions about CHORUSS, the department/project that I'm working on. He had a lot of insight into the real world, and we had a lot to talk about in general. He even had a book suggestion for me. Unfortunately he had a meeting he had to get to, so we had to cut our meeting short. All in all, talking to him was very beneficial.
When I got back to work, it was still pretty boring. I later come to find out some of the guys that work at WMG that I had become friendly with were moving to the 7th floor (we're on the 12th).
Eventually Jordan came in, with cases that Jim wanted me to read. Jack also had the document that he wanted me to work on as well... Eventually I got all of that done by 5. I was supposed to meet Garvin for dinner at 7PM, and it takes less than 30 mins to get there, so I had to find something to occupy myself. Unfortunately 5:30 rolled around and I was bored out of my mind. I texted Garvin asking if we could meet at 6:30, to which he said was fine.
After work I met up w/ Andrew aka Garvin (my lab leader from camp) for dinner at S'mac. I got there 25 mins early, and he was a bit late, so I awkwardly stood outside for a while, then awkwardly sat inside alone waiting for a while, but when he came all was good again! Garvin actually picked the location. I didn't know he was the mac and cheese type! Dinner was awesome, we both ended up getting the Napolita mac and cheese, it was essentially pizza mac & cheese. We talked and caught up for a while, then headed out.
Garvin had us chasing a "Desserts Truck" for a while. Never thought I'd see the day when I was chasing a dessert truck, with Andrew Garvin of all people! The desserts were pretty awesome though! After we got the desserts, we ate them while walking to Garvin's place. On the way there we had the randomest conversations, one was about puppies vs kittens, and the other simply about how he was leading me down a dark alley way. The place looked a bit sketchy from the outside and lobby, but his studio was pretty nice.
It was a great night, and tons of fun!

St. Patrick's Day
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
Today Caitlin and I went to the St. Patrick's Day Parade. We met at the Met around 2 PM ish. Caitlin is one of my favorite people on the APDA circuit! We had always talked about meeting up, and I'm glad we finally did. The parade wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be but it was a lot of fun. I had never seen so many bag pipes in my life! I even saw Fordham marching in the parade!
After the parade I met up w/ Ganesh. As we were leaving the parade, we bumped into Jim - yes, Becky's Jim. That was interesting to say the least... Ganesh and I, 2 of the most indecisive people ever, could not figure out what we wanted to do and just walked around aimlessly. We passed soo many bars, filled with tons of cops and firemen. Caitlin mentioned how Ryne, her boyfriend, wanted to get green beers, so as we passed each bar, I looked in hoping to get a glimse of some green beer. We were pretty convinced it is just food coloring.
Eventually Ganesh and I started talking about Pi Day, and how neither of us had real pie on Pi Day, so we decided to look for pie. On the way we passed Dylan's Candy Bar, suprisingly I had never been there and suggested we go. The place had so much candy, and was AMAZING!!! I ended up getting some Pop Rocks and Mint Chocolate Chip soft candy. We were a little skeptical of the Mint Chocolate Chip candy, but it was really good, and actually tasted like the ice cream! :)
After some more walking we came across a Johnny Rockets, and knew they would have apple pie there! We went in and got some chilli fries and apple pie a la mode! yum!!! :)

Black Knight Invitational
This past weekend was West Point's tournament the Black Night Invitational (BKI)!
Day 1
It started off with me leading a group on the Metro North to the Garrison, proceeded by Micah picking us up and driving like a crazy person!
We finally got to the hotel, or should i say motel, we were staying at the West Point Motel. The motel, reg, everything was a bit sketchy. The boys were conducting reg from the confines of one of the rooms... it was a bit weird to say the least. Once we were done we checked out the rooms, which smelled kind of funny, and were kind of gross. Eventually the rest of the crew had come, apparently Andrew somehow ended up in Jersey... while West Point is north....? Oh Andrew.
Then we went to "post" and I got to see everyone! :) It was good to see the whole WP ensemble, as you don't see them all together very often. You'll never guess who one of my judges was... ROSS! What are the chances of that? He was originally supposed to judge us in Round 1, but that got messed up, and here he was in Round 3 judging us.
We had a few rounds, dinner, and then went back to housing.
Day 2
Around 6:50 AM we get a wake up phone call. Me thinking it was one of our teammates calling Jayme and I cuz we were late, run across the room 1/2 asleep to answer the phone. Turns out it was Jim thinking he was being funny, not cool Jim. After a short breakfast we headed back to post.
After round 5, we went on a tour of the campus led by Kyle and Joe, which was tons of fun, as I knew them both. The tour was good, but definitely not as extensive as the one I had been on last year or the one w/ Jim a few weeks ago. Soon enough we were at the banquet. We had the pleasure of having Tyger Tuff Lyons sit with us at our table! I love that kid, hes awesome!
Before breaks were read, I handed Kyle (equity officer of the tournament) my EOF violation.
It stated:
After breaks were read, we rushed back to GA to get out of there, but had missed the train and had to wait for Micah to drive us. Eventually he got us and drove us to the station, and we were on our way home.
On the way home we had to transfer at the Harlem station. While we were there, you'll never guess who we saw... CONNOR! What are the chances of that? Apparently he was coming back from seeing his friend, and was getting on the train back to Fordham w/ us.

There were three sketchy guys at the West Point Motel, they invited me into their room which was dark, creepy, and sketchy...They loved it, well Mrs. Meyer did at least! ;)
It was 3 West Point cadets...

U2 at Fordham
U2 is coming to Fordham in <12 hours!!! I'm super excited!!!
**EDIT - POST U2**
Today I was woken up at 4:45 by a call from Jenny, who was online at the time. I told her I would be there ASAP, once I got the call. I slept a few more mins, woke up at 5 AM, quickly got dressed and such, and headed out at 5:15. The line was already HUGE by the time I got there. Luckily Jenny and Ashley had gotten there early. They were standing near the gym/mile-stones, if I had left the time I did, I probably would have been standing near where Keating ends.
We stood around for a while, eventually around 6:30ish they finally let us in! They had this guy do crowd control and try to entertain us... it was interesting to say the least. Finally around 7 people started to come out. U2 finally came out around 8 and performed some songs. They were awesome!!! Then they came out again and did somem songs that we actually knew!!! They were really awesome.
However, as soon as they came they were gone.
I tried waiting for U2 to c ome out of Keating but after 2 hrs and 40 mins they had still not come out. :-\ I had to leave as I was meeting the team at 12:15 to lead a group to West Point.
At 11:45 I timidly left, rushed, took a 5 min shower, packed, and headed to the Metro North Station.

GW II Tournament
This weekend was GWII, I rode down with Jayme, Lil Greg, Caitlin and Sarah. It was a fun ride, minus Jayme being a tad hung over and wanting to kill me for eating Reese Pieces - LOL. Apparently the other car - Andrew, Greg, Gareth, Robert and Emillie, didn't have such a good ride...
Friday
There was so much traffic on the highway that we got to GW just in time for Round 1. Lev was at the tournament, which was awesome, as I havent seen him since... convocations last summer?
Apparently Emillie was going to try to hook up w/ Michael Baer if he was to her standards... this could not be good...
I pro-am'ed with Jayme this weekend, which was a lot of fun! :)
Round 1
We had a pretty awesome chill judge, it was a dino named Ari, who really liked Boy Meets world and Jayme ;) That was a very fun round.
After Round 2, guess who showed up... MICHAEL! Apparently he did not meet up to Emillie's standards, she oddly enough did not think he was attractive... at all.
Then it was time for dinner, we went to this pretty good sandwich place, while Jayme had dinner w/ her friend Keggie - lol.
Round 3 rolled around and Jayme was nowhere in sight, not to mention my cell had died. We waited around for a while, but had to start the round. I was beginning to worry that I was going to have to iron man, make that I was worried. Eventually we just started the round, at least I was LO-ing. Finally, in the middle/end of my speech she finally came.
Finally it was PARTY TIME!!!!
Dan had gotten us a frat house, however the party was only ok. Rustin had come, so I got to chill w/ him for a while! :) Leave it to me to attract the 1 sketchy campus judge at the party... (the party was just APDA debaters). He kept trying to get me to drink some weird looking shot that looked like puke, then tried to get me to leave w/ him! "It's getting kind of loud, want to go somewhere?"
The story does get better... so after a while, I see Andrew frantically run outside followed by Gareth and Robert, apparently Emillie had left with JOHNNY MATHIAS... and was hooking up w/ him.... It was so ironic, as Emillie had said Michael Baer, who was ranked #1 on the Hott List and wanted by every girl and even straight guys on campus, was not up to par, and yet Johnny was... (No offense to Johnny, he's awesome!) After a while the team left, but I stayed. However Dan who was supposed to walk me back was going to Robbie's to party more... and I was not going to walk back alone to Dan's, especially since it was so far and i was not 100% sure where the location was. Luckily Adam, who had judged me in round 3, was nice enough to walk me back.
When we finally got back, Dan's roommate had all of his friends over in the living room area, so Adam and I just chilled in his room for a while. It was kind of weird as we didn'tknow who's bed we were sitting on... After a while, the rest of the team had finally showed up. Adam, left and we still awkwardly continued to chill in the bedroom.
Finally they left, and the roomie turned out be pretty cool.
Saturday
Kind of dull, none of our teams broke, however Michael did promise a visit to Fordham since he broke our lunch date ;)
We headed to dinner at Sarah's house. Her mom made us lasagna :)
