Jamba Juice FiTrends Expo

Jamba Juice (www.JambaJuice.com) flew me out to Santa Monica, California for the Jamba Juice FiTrends Expo (April 24-25) featuring celebrity athlete Venus Williams!

I always love attending Jamba Juice events and learning about the latest trends and trying their new products.

There were even a few surprise celebrity guest appearances, including Tony Horton of P90x and Biggest Loser Season 11 trainer Brett Hoebel.

At the event we did a series of fitness exercises:

• Blogilates with Cassey Ho (www.blogilates.com)

• Pilates workout integrating today’s top songs and pop music while strengthening the core

• Bokwa with Brian Mavi (www.bokwafitne.com)Innovative dance workout with the hearing impaired in mind, participants learned different choreography and would follow the exercise using letters and numbers to indicate the next move in the workout

• CrossFit with Charles Stumpf (www.crossfit.com)

• An intensive body strengthing workout – this rigorous workout featured sets of burpees, pushups and squats

• Broadway Bodies with Joseph Corella (www.broadwaybodies.com )

• Ballet inspired dance moves to Broadway music, this workout does not require any ballet background

• Piloxing with Courtney Gornall (www.piloxing.com)

• A workout combining pilates and kickboxing

•  Physique 57 with Sarah Pfeifer (www.physique57.com)

• Ballet bar-oriented workout strengthening the core

• La Blast with Jodie Patterson (www.lablastfitness.com)

• Upbeat dance workout with moves from the 90s

Venus closed out the event with a "Keynote Workout," led by Venus and her trainer Samantha Monus. The workout was a tennis oriented workout, without the usage of a tennis racket, strengthening and stretching the body while mimicking tennis movements seen on the court.

Wounded Warrior Project Holiday Party

I was invited to the Wounded Warrior Project's 2nd Annual Holiday Party.  It was nice to see everyone out and supporting our amazing military.

I had a wonderful time speaking with members of the US Military and playing a very intense game of hot potato, although it was a snowman this time!

Miss New York United States!!!

That''s right you are looking at your new Miss New York United States!!!

Today I was crowned the title of Miss New York United States!!!

What are the chances?  Who ever thought I'd win a state title?!?  Won't lie, I was shocked when I found out and am still in disbelief!  I am so excited to see what the year has to bring and to represent NY at the Miss United States Pageant in July!

My platform this year will be: Empowering Youth Through Education on Sustainability Issues, focusing on the 3 E's of sustainability - the economics, environment and social equity issues facing today's communities.

I'd love to get more involved with the community, so don't hesitate to send a message if you'd like to see me at your events!  

Nike Broadway Bowl

Today was the FIRST ever Nike Broadway Bowl.  The Bowl was held in Times Square and featured a football game between some NFL Players and celebrities playing against one another in a 5 on 5 game of flag football.  Some of the players included Mark Sanchez, Justin Tuck, Matt Ryan, Dwayne Bowe, Browning Nagle, Ronnie Lott, Jadakiss, Pooch Hall and Ace Hood.

The players were divided into two groups: “Team Sanchez” coached by Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez and "Team Tuck," coached by the Giants defensive end Justin Tuck.  Team Tuck proved to be victorious, winning the game with a score of 20-0 and taking home the first Broadway Bowl trophy.

Winter X Games Aspen '12 Has Come to an End

Sadly the Winter X Games 2012 has come to an end.

Many firsts and exciting things happened this year:

• 1st Front Flip by Heath Frisby in Snowmobile Best Trick
• First perfect score of 100 by Shaun White in Snowboard SuperPipe
• Shaun White five-peats in SuperPipe

Live Fruitfully & Do the Jamba Samba Jam!

Today was my first event as a Jamba Juice Ambassador of WOW.  I got to be part of the festivities to kick off Jamba Juice's "Fruitful Living" campaign, which encourages all to "embracing each day, each moment and each opportunity to be healthy, active and fun."

The day started at 8:30 AM, where I met Crystal from Good Neighbor and bunch of other Jamba Juice execs/employees, who flew all the way from California. We really lucked out with great weather in the 50s today.

The festivities began with a Brazilian style parade with 74 Bananamen, thats right 74 of them, as we marched through midtown. We started at Bryant Park and continued to march around, making stops and performing the new Jamba Samba Jam outside the NYPL, Rockefeller Center, the NASDAQ (where CEO James White rang the opening bell), and Jamba Juice on 7th Ave in Times Square where the parade concluded.

CEO James White was opening the NASDAQ as part of NASDAQ's Fit Week, so that was also a big thing for them. They even had (who I heard) the President of the NASDAQ in a banana suit! 

At the store, Jamba Juice rolled out an an orange carpet and had Bananaman interviewing people about what they are doing to be more healthy in the new year. To kick off the event, we were gave out 500 gift cards (which was what I was assigned to do), scarves and bracelets and had Bananaman and Strawberry Girl there for pictures.  In addition to that Chairman, CEO & President James White and Senior VP & CMO Susan Shields were also there! 

James White did not know that me and the other ambassadors were ambassadors, and actually went out of his way to meet and thank each of us individually! He was soo nice (even when he didn't know who we were)! 

I tried the new "Fit n' Fruitful" smoothie (try saying that 10 times fast), which tasted pretty awesome! I also had the opportunity to get to know the other ambassadors better! 

Can I just say that everyone was soo nice and soo great!

End of 2011

2011 has been great - I had ton of great times and made lots of new friends and memories to carry me into the new year! Its been a great way to end the year catching up with new & old friends (from elementary school, JHS, HS college and grad school)!

This year I:

• Graduated and received my MBA
• Got my first job
• Interned at the United Nations
• Met and interviewed famous politicians, athletes and celebrities

Thanks for making 2011 so amazing, I can't wait to see what 2012 has to bring!

Today I was supposed to meet up with Ganesh for lunch today.  We had decided to go to Ruby Tuesday for lunch.  So I went upstairs to meet him and to my surprise YI was there!!!

I was definitely not expecting to see him at all!  It was a great surprise!  I had never been surprised like that before!

Birthday Festivities

Last night a few friends and I went out and celebrated my birthday.

I started off the night at Avra, a cute Greek restaurant in the city.  Of course I was late for my own party.  I had a great turn out of people from all different part of my lives - Marianna, Amanda, Ganesh, JM, Mike, Steve & his roomie Max.

After dinner we had some time before our 9 PM reservation at the next location, so we decided to go to Calico Jacks for some cheap drinks... where I had about oh.. 4 shots on a span of 15 minutes... (I was pretty much done drinking for the night at that point lol).

After the shots we took a cab to Brass Monkey, where we met up with everyone else.  We had two tables in our own little room like place - which was awesome!  There we met up with Massey, Paul, Vicki, Adriano, Miguel & his roomie Jason, Brian, Rocky - who I was not expecting to see, and Andrew!
