getgeeked New York 2014

Today I attended the first ever getgeeked New York event at Metropolitan Pavilion.  The event was pretty cool, many of the exhibitors were showcasing their new products for the holiday season.  Some of my favorite products were:
  • Boogie Board - an eWriter tablet
  • Martian Notifier Smartwatch - I received a unit and have review up soon
  • Flygrip - product you attach to your phone to prevent you from dropping it
  • phorus - speakers & music products
  • Lenovo's new "yoga" line - flexible tablets and laptops

Interview with Mario Lopez

Credit: Peshean Zhang

Tonight, October 9, 2013, I had the opportunity to interview Mario Lopez!!! He was hosting the 20th Anniversary Dinner for the Walter Kaitz Foundation, which serves to increase diversity in the cable industry.

You can check out the interview here: http://www.examiner.com/article/mario-lopez-on-diversity

I found out afterward from my friend Peshean, who was photographing and made this event possible, that I made Mario's head turn!

Apparently as we were waiting for him outside his suite, as he turned the corner he looked at me and went "wow" and bypassed the two other women in front of me to meet and shake my hand first!  How cool is that?!

World in 2011 Gala

It's weird how everything can go super terrible to amazing in one day.  Last night I covered the Economist's "World in 2011" Festival Opening Gala.  This was my first event as "press" which was kind of cool.  The event was awesome, I made a few friends and even managed to snag a picture with none other than key note speaker President Bill Clinton!!!
