OMG my Financial Management midterm last night was sooo hard!!! I didn't/couldn't finish the test... it was that bad, and we all know how good I am w/ numbers. Essentially all of the class was there til the end, or at least 15 mins to the end. Erica, who is a genius, was there til the end, and she had just finished and thought she only did OK. Hopefully he'll curve the test.

Then when I got back to O'Hare last night, I thought I'd be good and pitch in w/ housing. It shouldnt take too long right? WRONG!!! I was there until close to 1AM?!? But we managed to get it all done. I could tell Meg was pissed cuz some of my people had backed out, well they didn't technically, they just couldn't be there at 11 PM to sign the kids in, but were still willing to do it....

I finally spoke to Ross last night... that was interesting to say the least. Not awkward at all, but it sounds like West Point gave their word to be good, and they're following it :-\ Sucks, but I understand.

Back to work, update later.

American University Tournament

We got back from the AU tourney earlier today, around 8:30ish.

I hybrided with Matt Herdman from William & Mary. I must admit at first I was very timid about hybriding, but it turned out really well. Matt was an awesome debater, really cool, and we had actual mutual friends in real life!

Our rounds were as followed:
W&M/Fordham, MD C - We should not use public funding to tear down and rebuild the new Yankee Stadium
Duke B, W&M/Fordham - Eminent domain should be eliminated
UVA A, W&M/Fordham - Performance enhancers should be legalized
W&M/Fordham, Swatmore/Brandeis - SUV vs Electric Car
W&M/Fordham, MD F - Schools should not be allowed to restrict food based on child welfare

The tournament went really well. I hung out a lot with Chicago and Columbia. Turns out Tom Blaser managed to convince Greg Nance to join their team! (Tom is a self-proclaimed scared puppy)

Friday night went well, Team Chicago, Team Columbia and I had all gone to the Monument Mall, while the rest of team Fordham, Matt G, Laura, Gareth, and Robert walked to the Metro and went to see the mall on their own. I had taken the shuttle w/ Columbia and met up with Chicago at the Metro cuz they had not waited for us. We checked out the sites and then went to go look for food. We walked around for over an hour trying to find food, but had no luck :-\ It was very sad, we couldnt find any food :( Then it started to POUR!!! It was nearing 3 AM, so we decided to head back to the AU dorms since the train/shuttle stopped running at 3AM.

Dean's List & MTVu Woodie Awards

Today has been super hectic. Not only did I have to go to work, I also was going to the Dean's List Reception, and eventually the MTVu Woodie Awards. It was pretty awesome!

The day started out with me going to work, from 9-2:30, I didn't get back to Fordham until close to 4PM. When I then had too take a shower and get ready for the Dean's List Ceremony. A few mins after I get out of the shower, I get a call from mommy, saying shes already there. So i run and get dressed, and then head out to the Dean's List ceremony... a bit wet.

Dean's List Ceremony

The dean's list was super long, but the whole ceremony ended at 6, which was good. I realized I wasn't going to have time to make it back to O'Hare, so I decided to get some food, take my time, and meet Kaylin at in the lobby of McGinley.

We met up w/ the random freshmen that were coming, we had 16 tix, but were only using 4. I was trying desperately to get rid of them, with little luck. We took the 6:30 PM ram van thinking we would get there around 7 pm. Wow were we wrong, the driver took the Riverside Highway and hit every single red light. The other van had gotten there way before us apparently.

Woodie Awards

The Woodies were super crowded, but so much fun! We started out in the back, but then some how made it to the front of the section! At the end of the night I got to meet the lead singer of BOYS LIKE GIRLS!!!

HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY!!!

11-11, make a wish!

Today they started filming "Solitary Man" at Fordham on Eddies. According to one of the guys, it's about a car dealer who's a sex-addict. When I asked the guy who was going to be on campus today he just said Jesse Eisenberg... you're probably thinking exactly what I was thinking... who's that? The guy told me he was in some movie titled The Squid and the Whale or something weird like that.

I looked up the movie at work study. There are some pretty big named stars in the movie, including Danny Devito, Michael Douglas and Susan Saradon, in addition to "Pam" from the Office. I told Dorothy and Anthony, they were so excited, it was kind of funny - lol.
Today is also Veteran's Day so Janiera and Peter brought in their sons Richie and Justin, respectively. We--Janiera, Richie, Peter, Justin, Adriana, and I--went out for lunch, and decided to walk by Keating where they were filming, hoping to catch a glimse of something. No luck there though... However on the way back, we walked around by Keating vs Eddies (as we werent allowed to), and asked if Michael Douglas would be around. Janiera had professed her love for him). It turned out he had just left Keating in "that black car" (lady pointed at), which was now stationed in the parking lot where the trailers were...

We all walked along the way to the parking lot, stood around hoping to catch him. Adriana and I had stood in the parking lot while Janiera, Peter and their kids, went back to the office. We talked to the driver, and he said that Michael Douglas was in the car, and that we could stand around and wait if we wanted to. After a few mins we saw a few girls run in/out of his trailer, a guy speak to the driver, and the driver start up the car. We knew he was coming out soon. And a few mins later... he did!!!

I asked him to take a pic, but he had said no as he was in a rush. But then he was like OK, and I got a pic w/ him! :)

Tonight as part of Resident Week, RHA cosponsored with CAB to have Dave Coulier aka Joey Gladstone from Full House come speak at Fordham! I was going to leave class early, but we were actually learning things, and with the next week couldn't leave early :-\ After my night class, I ran over and apparently so did AnnMarie, and we got there just before he left. We ran up and got a picture with him! :)

Even when I met him he was still funny.
Me: Hey! How are you? Sorry I missed you, I was in class.
DC: That's ok, do you have a pass from your teacher? hahaha
How awesome is that! He was super nice :)

London, here we come!

Today we landed in Heathrow. We got to the airport super early yesterday, 3 hrs early... As soon as we got to the hotel, which I navigated us to, we dropped our stuff off, and immediately headed out.

First we went to the Tower of London (see video), then made our way to the London Bridge, and other various parts of London. We saw the London Eye, Big Ben, Parliament. The next big attraction we went to was Westminster Abbey, followed by the British Museum. We were supposed to meet Marisa there, however she had fallen asleep.

On the way back I wanted to go to see Platform 9 3/4 but the team didn't want to. It was only 7:30 PM, how often are you in London? Eventually, after much arguing, they gave in and said to go, so I did, much to their suprise (I think)... It was pretty cool. I felt bad that Peter and Lisa had to come with me though :-\ Thanks for coming, I really appreciate it! :)

By the time we got back to the Ashley Hotel it was only 8:30 PM...

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

TRICK OR TREAT!!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Today is Halloween! Day started out same as usual, I'm excited for tonight to go to the Halloween Parade in the village.

I went to class, then went to set up for the O'Hare halloween party. Janiera brought in her baby, Lucas, today! He's soo cute! He was a warm fuzzy pumpkin, his costume was that soft fur the use to make stuffed animals! She let me hold him and I fell in love, I want to rent a baby for a day! lol

I'm dressing up as a referee tonight, it's a bit short for my liking, at least it's cute, and not as bad as it could be. It's sad to think I was looking for something not slutty and that's what I came out with...

Update:
The parade last night was pretty awesome, not as crazy as I had anticipted, although we were a bit more uptown from where the parade had started, 11th Street-ish. We took the 7PM Ram Van, then the subway to Christopher St, and walked over to 6th St. We walked around and it was super croweded, but eventually we found a decent place to stand and watch.

Sean was Scooby Doo, which at first I must admit was kind of dorky, but turned out to be that awesome old school costume that everyone loved. Everyone kept screaming out "Scooby Doo, where are you?" which was hilarious! It was as if we were with a celebrity - lol.

Eventually we hopped the fence and walking in the parade for a bit which was fun. After that we went to Cafe Wha which was cool. However on the way there I got lost, and had to find my way. I stopped and asked a cop how to get there, but he didn't know where the place was. Then out of nowhere this female office interrputs and says something to the effect of:
Cop: You should probably go home them
Me: But I have to go in the Bronx, and I don't want to take the subway alone. I got separated from my group and just want to find them.
Cop: Well you should go home then, well jsut don't go drinking then...
Me: Ok
**Cop is done with me, and shoos me away**
After a while, I finally get John on the phone, and after much confusion due to all of the noise static, I found my way there. :) We finally get in, the place is packed, and the seats are squished, but we sit and finally get to chill. The band comes out and starts to play, they were really good. Around 1:30 we finally left, and headed towards the subway. There was a huge line to get into the station. Not to mention it then took forever for the train to come. We decided we would take the train to 50th street and just walk to Lincoln Center due to the scarcity of the trains. ON the subway, these two drag-queens went to Sean and started to talk to them OMG baddd. We didn't end up getting to 50th Street from the W4 station until 2:30-ish and to Lincoln Center until 2:41ish. Luckily we had managed to get into the 3:00 AM ram van back to Fordham, however the entirety of our group did not.

Eventually we made it back to Fordham around 3:30 AM :)

HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY SUSAN!!!

I havent been feeling too hott today :-\ I went to my classes with a headache. I got my midterms back today, I didn't do as well as I would have liked, but hopefully I'll be able to bring my future grades up. While I was in forensics I got a random text from Amelia asking for my email, apparently Chris Hodge ("Steve's friend") wanted my email "re an internship" which turned out to be him looking for interns for his friend via me, and wanted girls specificially - lol. At first I thought it was a little sketch that he wanted me to ask my "girl friends" but it turned out he was using the football coach for guy recruits, and me for girls, and wanted to hire football players if he was going to hire boys.

After all my classes I went to get lunch, thinking it would make me feel better but not really... Then I attempted to take a nap but failed, and headed to work study. I left early, around 4:30 PM, and took a nap before my CBA student council meeting. I felt a little better once I and finished taking my nap, but felt a bit light headed going to the meeting. We got out around 6:15 and figured why not get dinner at the caf. I had a decent meal for once - lol, chicken catatorre, and ended up eating w/ Jenny which was nice.

Happy Birthday Rose!!!

HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY ROSE!!!

Today was a super hectic day as we had to drive back to Fordham from Baltimore, MD.

We threw Rose a surprise party and man she was surprised! :) The look on her face was PRICELESS. She claims that shes hard to surprise and that nobody has done it before... well guess she can't say that anymore!

Today is my first midterm of the semester. Hopefully all goes well - need to go back to studying!

***EDIT***

The test wasn't too bad. It was actually a lot easier than I had anticipated it to be. I knew it was going to be open book, but I really only used my notes for one section. The "stretch" aka extra credit problems weren't even that bad. I think I did well, but only time, well Dr. Werner will tell!

RHA Retreat

The retreat this year wasn't as bad or corny as it had been in the past.

It all started at 9AM in LaLande Lounge in Martyrs for a breakfast with our RD Lindy, ARD Donte, and our RA liason Christina, and oh yeah the other boards and their RDs/RA Liaisons. There weren't any cheesy games, such as the one where you throw your shoe into a pile, grab one, and are then required to find the person who owns the shoe.

Next we left for the retreat, which was at the Tactonic Retreat House. The ride was long, and apparently we had gone to the retreat house. And on top of that the parkway the GPS said to take did not allow buses to go on it! After many many many hours longer than anticipated we finally made it there. They had cut out a lot of the bad ice breakers, which was good.

More later...
