Birthday Weekend!!!
This past Friday was my birthday!!! Thanks to everyone who came out, I had an amazing time!!!
Friday
I started off the night at Room Service with about a dozen friends for some Thai food and cool exotic drinks. I had something like... "Frosted Night in Bangkok in the Winter" or something, and they had other fun drinks like "Do Not Disturb" going with the hotel theme. The venue was very cute.
Afterwards, we went to "Agua Dulce" which was a very cute venue, a lot of people came out including a bunch from GBA. We had a bunch of drinks, needless to say they got me drunk... but that's not too hard to do!
Finally after we closed out the restaurant, we went to Coppersmith's for more drinks! Torres was super sweet and drove all the way back after driving Amarelis home to drive Adge and me home! (Torres if you're reading this, you rock!)
All in all it was an AMAZING night, I feel soo loved and lucky to have such amazing friends! In all honesty, I was super happy that so many people from the different stages of my life came out, especially my GBA friends (I have real GBA friends!) You guys are the best!!! <3
Saturday
I met up with my bff Steph for lunch at Celsius and finally met her bf Scott, who I totally approve of! Then we went to get Crumbs, went to see the tree, had Dunkin Donuts, where we split the cupcakes - boy was that fun, and then went to look at the display windows. Then the 'rents came to pick me up after J-Dawg was done at Regis.
We then went to dinner at Cascarinos and ice cream cake at our house! :)
Great weekend!
Thanks to my wonderful family and friends! :)

I handed in my final paper and gave my last presentation for the semester today! Went to bed at 4 AM and woke up around 9 AM - not bad. Livesey said the presentation was much better and that I had improved, so that was good, although the paper is very rambe-ly. I'm so done I'm over it!
Now onto birthday celebrations tomorrow! :)

World in 2011 Gala
It's weird how everything can go super terrible to amazing in one day. Last night I covered the Economist's "World in 2011" Festival Opening Gala. This was my first event as "press" which was kind of cool. The event was awesome, I made a few friends and even managed to snag a picture with none other than key note speaker President Bill Clinton!!!

Rain Rain, Go Away!
Today was TERRLBEEEEE
I had an interview for GuestofaGuest.com and not only was I late, I was stuck in a terrible rain storm! I was walking around in the wrong direction for the longest time... thanks hopstop.com... and was fine with a little bit of rain then got hit by a massive monsoon - the type that only last for about 10 mins but are terrible.
When I got to the interview, I was wet dog status - dripping wet hair, and oh yeah I was pouring water out of my shoes... literally - all for a 15 minute interview?!?
By the time I left I was drenched head to toe and had to go shopping for clothes, as I had a presentation at 8 PM for Dr. Dennis' class. Great.
Presentation went well, happy I'm done.

Photo Shoot & Fashion Show
Today I had a "Guilty Pleasures" photoshoot with Twana H. My guilty pleasure was "ice cream." The shoot went well.
Afterward, I went to Fordham for the Urban Go Green Expo. I got to be in the Eco-Fashion Show, so that was pretty cool! :)

Big Bronx
Big Bronx was this past weekend - Round Robin on Thursday and the actual tournament Friday to Sunday.
Thursday
The round robin went well, I judged the 1st round of the Congress RR, first ever for us! It was pretty cool. I was pretty freaked out about judging for the first time, but I got the hang of it by the end, and had similar rankings to the guy running the round (who was surprisingly my age).
Afterwards, we went to Japonica for dinner, which was a lot of fun! I got to sit with Lev, my new college policy friends, and Jon's friend Mike from Vassar. Lots of sushi!!! Yum!!! :)
Friday
I was in charge of the housing portion of reg, I got to see a lot of old friends and Bx Sci alum. I only had to judge 1 flight today, due to housing stuff. Which ended up going pretty smoothly!
Saturday
Apparently, everyone thought I was pretty calm yesterday and that I did a goo job! Jon basically told me I could come in whenever I wanted today, so I skipped round 4, and came to judge round 5-7. Surprisingly, I only judge flight B's.
I got out of going in tomorrow!!! So I will sleep in!
Overall it was a good weekend - I got to see some of my favorite people - Melanie, Rohan, Angela, Lev, Jordan, and got to meet and hang out w/ the Bx Sci debate team! <3
They are so awesome! :)

Photoshoot!
Today I had a my first "on location" photoshoot wtih photographer John Pringle. We shot in Central Park. John was pretty chill, but he was a little too friendly, we had just met and he already thought of me as his "little sister" and gave me hugs and stuff - too soon.
I got some good shots, and some not so good shots - lol. Overall it was pretty fun!

The Drums @ Webster Hall
Tonight J-Dawg and I went to see The Drums perform at a MTV show at the studio at Webster Hall!
NASDAQ
Today the interns and I went to the NASDAQ. It was pretty cool and high tech! We got to see the opening bell and received a presentation. I had asked a question regarding supplements to the specialist aka real people that they have at the NYSE but clearly do not at the NASDAQ. I got the best response ever... "We have real humans working upstairs" LOL

1st Day at the SEC
Today was my first day working at the SEC. We were in Orientation for most of the day - filling out paper work, being oriented and waiting to be sworn in. Apparently I was different from the other interns in the sense that I was assigned with headquarters versus the NY Regional Office (NYRO). I was oriented with 3 other interns - Katherine, Pat and Damian, all of which seem pretty cool. I felt really old as I was the only college graduate there...
After waiting for a while I was finally sworn in by Bruce, my supervisor. I am sitting on the 17th floor outside another supervisor, Ken's office.
I also met Tristan, another intern in the Asset Management Unit. He seems pretty cool so far, hes in a similar boat to me, in that he graduated this spring and will be starting law school in the fall. Apparently he started 2 weeks ago and went to Brown.

Kate Voegele & Jason Derulo
Today I saw Kate Voegele and Jason Derulo!!!
Kate Voegele
Fanny and I went to the Oakley store in the Meat Packing District to see Kate. There were maybe 20 people there that weren't employees. It was a nice, small, intimate acoustic set. She sang about 5-6 songs, it was pretty awesome! Afterwards she hung around and talked to everyone, shes such a sweetheart!
Jason Derulo
Jacqueline and I went to see Jason Derulo at the Filmore tonight, it was a pretty awesome show!!! ON our way in I saw Keith and Craig and Amanda after the show, what are the chances of that - lol. Afterward, we went to wait for Jason and failed :( However, we did meet his opening act TINO.
