Yearling Weekend

Today I'm going the Yearling Dance with Jim. Katie just came over to help me with my hair, I'm doing it up with curls. However, she is making me wear these curlers in my hair until the dance... I look ridiculous! I was supposed to meet them at noonish, but now it looks like I'm not meeting them til 1 ish.

**Edit - Post Dance**

I met up w/ Jim and his friends, we took the train up to Garrison. Then 12 of us squeezed into an SUV, meant to hold 8 people max, there were 3 ppl in the front seat, one girl sitting on top of another in shot gun, 6 in the middle row, then 4 of us in that back trunk seat meant for 2. It was INSANE, you should've seen us trying to get into security, it was a mess!

Jim gave me an exclusive tour of the campus which was really cool. Then we went to visit Lupo and Kyle, then Luke. Lupo and Kyle were sooo suprised to see us!

Then it was off to dinner at "the Mess Hall." That was interesting... we walked around and people were not allowed to sit down until everyone was there, so you had to stand next to your assigned chair. Then this important 5-Star general gave a super long speech (I may or may not have been texting during it, oops), followed by lots of toasting. The food wasn't too bad, but it was served family style-esque. They had a big tray of food, and you would take some and pass it down. It's good to see that ARMY knows how to share.

After dinner, we rushed to the reception line - its sort of like introducing a debutante but less big. We waited on a long line, were then introduced to a general and his wife, shook their hands, and out we went.

All of the boys were anxious to get back into the city to party, so we rushed back to Jim's room to get changed and head to the Metro North to catch the train back into the city. Our ride had left before we even got back, so Jim, Paul, and I ran to try to find a ride to the stop after Garrison, which would give us a bit more time as there was no way that we would get to Garrison in time to catch the train. We ended up getting a ride from this sketchy gypsy van... eventually we got to the station, and there were Jim's friends who had ditched us.

When we finally got back to the station, I met Jim's old roomie, who was gorgeous! Apparently he had heard a lot about me... uh oh! Unfortunately I couldn't go back to their pent house to party... so I headed back to school.

The dance was a lot of fun!

NYU Tournament

Today is NYU, should be fun. Not sure what I'm doing afterwards. It think Jayme and I are going to head to Jim's party.

**Edit**

NYU was fun, got to see some friends! I was not put in for round 1 because JH said I was late. So he decided to put me in as the back-up judge, which meant sitting around. Since a back-up judge wasn't needed I was sitting in GA and was bored out of my mind; at least I made some new friends! :)

I then judged round 2 - CS: should the US unilaterally lift the embargo on cuba?
round 3 - should we close guantanama bay?

After rounds were over for the night, Jayme and I went to meet Jim at a club him and his friends had rented out. Unfortunately the boys forgot to check that they would be able to get in if they were under 21... so we headed back to the flat they had rented out. the place was pent house apt, which was pretty sweet. We stayed for a little while but then had to get back before the ram vans stopped running. The ride back took forever, we had to take a cab to the train, then train to LC to get the Ram Van. I'm so happy i didn't have to do that alone!

Teddy Geiger

Today Teddy Geiger had a free show in the city. I had a bit of problem trying to find someone to go with. Luckily Jayme was able to come!

We left right after my financial engineering class (2:30 - 3:45) and got to the venue, the Living Room a few minutes after 5. When we got there the guy at the door asked us for ID not to get in, but to verify if we could drink. Since I am not 21 yet and Jayme forgot her ID, he wrote"NO!!" on our hands (in sharpie).

When we finally got into the room jayme and I got a small table off to the side. There were not many people at all, maybe 40-50 people tops. Teddy was so funny, in a dorky way LOL. He played quite a few songs. However he said he had forgotten how to play a lot of them, apparently his last show was in September. He was so good!

After the show had ended Teddy stuck around to take pictures and chat! :) He was super nice and sweet! He asked me about my wrist, apparently he had broken his wrist as well. We talked about our wrists, life, and benefit week. Who knows he might stop by! After that Jayme and I headed back to Fordham.

I LOVE TEDDY GEIGER!!!

City w/ Gossip Girl, Dhara & Jyoti

After jury duty, I went to the set of Gossip Girl, I got there around 4-ish? Man, it was cold there, eventually I saw Uncle Jack & Chuck walk by. However I somehow missed the rest of the cast enter the location... I was told they entered another door. After much waiting, I finally got to see Ed, I always get a pic w/ him!

Then I headed towards 86th Street to meet up with Dhara & Jyoti for dinner. On the way there, I bumped into Jeremy from Controllers?!? It was soo strange! Eventually I made my way to the Barnes and Noble and met up w/ Dhara and Jyoti. Jyoti had recently been to Uno's, our usual place, a few days ago so we deicided to go to this other place that Dhara had recommended. The food wasn't too bad. We hung out for a bit then headed home.

Jury Duty... Day 2

I'm back again, only this time since we were returners we got to come in an hour later, still too early for me though. As I walk in to the side area, I'm looking for Nick, and you'll never guess who I saw... FARYN!!! I went to JHS 194 with her and had not seen her in over a year or two! What a blast from the past. Eventually I go sit with Nick, and Mouiden finds us.

The cop then calls the first bunch of groups to be questioned to be on the jury, bored out of our minds we kind of hope we get called. Turns out Nick, Mouidon andm I are all called and in the same group! The lawyers question us 6 at a time, I was called up in the 2nd group along w/ Mouiden. In the room there was another Fordham girl, and the guy I was sitting next to in the questioning had a sister who was an RA at Fordham. After the last question, the lawyer esseintially said "we would love to have you on our jury however we think you might be a bit biased." Woot, that meant I was home free, good thing too, since I have school on Monday. However Mouiden was not so lucky... he had to come back on Monday and serve on the jury.

After we were released from that room, I went downstairs and chilled w/ Faryn, who was sitting next to another kid we went to JHS with! Seriously, what is going on? I didn't know whether or not Nick would be down in time for lunch so I walked around w/ Faryn to find lunch. We ended up getting pizza and catching up :)

Finally at close to 3 PM, the cop called a batch of people to be released, and I was one of them! :)

Jury Duty

Today I had jury duty. I had to be there at 9 AM in the morning... not fun, not to mention it was pouring!!!

The moment I walked in I saw Nick from Fordham/Bronx Science. What are the chances of that?!?

Oh but it gets better, there 3 other kids who graduated from Bronx Science, and a boy that lives in my dorm (Nick's roommate) there as well. So that's 4 of us who graduated in from Bronx Science in 2006 that were there, Nick, Mouindin (sp?), Lisa, and myself. Nick, Mouidon, Ankur (Bronx Science '05), and I hung out the whole time.

Unfortunately were were not dismissed and need to come back tomorrow :-\

The Cast

We drove back to NY this afternoon. I finally saw the orthopedic to get completely checked out. I got x-rays done. The doctor confirmed that " yup, your wrist is definitely broken. He then said I had two decisions to make... The first question being what color did I want my cast to be, and the second whether or not I wanted it to be water proof or not. It was $150 for the waterproof cast, so i got the regular one in pink of course! The whole process was very quick. I was suprised at how long it took, it didn't take nearly ad long as i thought I would be.
