MLK Day of Service 2015

Today I volunteered with Sports & Arts in Schools Foundation (SASF) for MLK Day of Service 2015 with Chris, Rocky & Matt at MS 499M in Harlem, NY.

At the school, we volunteered with the middle school students on a a few projects.  We made a peace quilt to express what we viewed peace to be, wrote thank you letters to the military and "bracelets of hope" for victims of domestic violence.

My friends and I found it interesting to see different perspectives everyone had on everything.  Nonetheless we all had a wonderful time meeting new people and volunteering together!

Unemployment...

I went to the unemployment office for the first time today, I did only just file for unemployment.  My "case worker" was actually very nice and pretty cool.  He kind of knew I had my act together so it was not a drawn out event.  It turned out one of the employees there also went to Bronx Science and my case worker's son works at my old company, Viacom (still can't believe I was laid off!).

Looks like the job market is opening up, so hopefully I find something soon.  Good luck to everyone else looking for a new job!
