First Day of Classes

Today was my first day of classes. So far so good, today I had Marketing Principles from 8:30AM - 9:45AM with Dr. Larry King, Forensics Science from 10:00AM - 11:15 with Professor Beer, and Principles of Management from 11:30AM - 12:45 PM with Professor Dobrow.

Marketing looks like it might be a lot of work, but it looks like fun. I got the book new and cheap from the teacher, it was only $100 opposed to $180 new/$128 used! :) I was afraid that I would miss the midterm for debate (only to find out the tournament was pushed back a week), so I told him, and he loved that I was a debater! Lets just hope he doesn't have too high of an expectation now.

Forensics Science seems like fun. I knew a lot more kids that I thought I would. However the only thing that bugged me was that he already started teaching and went through all of chapter 1 in < 1 class session. It won't be as fun as Forensics bio was in HS, but this will suffice, it sure beats the other science classes. Plus I was expecting a 2 hour lab every week, but there are only 4. :) Principles of Management also seems like it will be good. The teacher seems pretty chill, its prob cuz shes young. But she was mentioning how sweet her office was, and how the NFL kickoff show was outside their offices and they were planning to watch it.

After classes Ashley and I met up w/ Becky K to get lunch, and I bumped into Lisa and eventually Alana came. We chilled a bit, I'm so happy we're on good terms!

Today was also our first debate meeting, in which we had a demo round for the possible new novii! The round was a bit boring, but its probably just cuz I'm not in the right mindset. We also passed a new resolution to the constitution which allowed Reed to step up to VPI, leaving Member at Large open. I'm not quite sure if I want to run or not. Meg says I should, and I do do that type of stuff anyways... So i might just do it... we shall see. But this leads me to to think I should run for President of O'Hare.

We just had our first floor meeting a little while ago (9:30PM), it was what it was, enough said. I did finally get to talk talk to Danielle, who seems like a total sweetheart, and I got to meet Jen the other wellness RA, who also seems sweet! I was on the phone harrassing Torres yet again, and I helped Jen move a table and I got to talk talk to her a bit, so that was nice! :) I'm still in shock about Torres...

Club Fair

Today was the Fordham Club Fair. We got 3 pages of sign ups! Anddd a lot of them were girls, good looking girls according to the boys. Lets hope we got some good looking jr/sr boys ;)

I didn't do too much today, it was the first day of classes, but I have Wednesdays off, so my first day will be tomorrow. I dont really know if i want to do binders or notebooks, so I just have a small folder w/ paper in it! According to blackboard, I will probably have to buy books for only 2 classes and a financial calculator.

NSO - Academic Day

Today was pretty boring, and I spent most of the day sitting in McGinley waiting for the presentations to be over. Apparently Dean Rapictrolli's son now goes to Fordham. He had accidentally gone to Fordham Prep instead of the ballroom and was late for his own mom's speech - lol.

Then we had to sit in the gym for the rest of the day, and then put all the seats away, boy was that exhausting. I have never been through this much physical labor! At least I was able to get some t-shirts and a nso bag!

NSO - Student Life Day

Today was the 2nd day of orientation. Not much happened.

Our group was supposed to attend the "Night in NYC" program, however that turned into massive labor. We had to move all the bookbags for the freshman into the gym... and the freshman class is about 2000 kids... the biggest class ever. The bags were super heavy, we had to move them out of the OSLCD Office into the elevators, then to the gym... how intense is that?!? I had gotten all dressed up for the dance at that time, only to be drenched in my own sweat. Luckily I was able to take a shower before the dance. I was put in charge of getting the bags into the elevator and out the other end. Towards the end, I threw one of the bags out, and hit Sam right in the face! :-\

Tonight was the Freshman mixer, which was awesome! I had so much fun! As we were walking to the dance, we bumped into some of the other OL's and the big strong guy that was helping move the bags. Apparently Sam wasn't faking like we thought when he leaned back and said ouch - he had a dent on his face :-\ But the guys were impressed/thought it was funny that it was me who had thrown the bag outta the elevator and at his head - lol.

Nicole and I had gone to a group of freshman and started dancing w/ them in hopes taht they would join us... we were wrong. one of the girls had started to dance w/ us but the others wouldn't budge. Then tehy asked how old we were and were like oh.... so we sorta backed away, and OMG they closed their circle! :( While I had failed to get the freshmen to dance, at least I was able to get Connor to dance w/ me! :)
